Your Closet Needs A Statement Jacket
The fall vibes in Miami that I'm getting with this weather is reminiscent of the fall season I've been accustomed to in New York.
I was honored when I found out I was a nominee and then a semi-finalist for Best Fashion Blogger by the South Florida Bloggers Union. I had an outfit planned but the unpredictable Miami weather threw me a curveball. I've been wanting to wear this accordion-style midi skirt to the awards ceremony but it was chilly, so I picked up this Zara mustard bomber during my last trip to NY which added the perfect pop of color to the look.
PAIR A MIDI-SKIRT W/ A STATEMENT JACKET
Midi Skirts are incredibly flattering for any body shape. We all slack during the holidays and don't go to the gym as much which is why this style skirt which sits perfectly on the smallest part of my waist concealed my lack of abs! You can pair it with a crop top (Helmut Lang pictures) to give your outfit some edge.
BTW... these were all shot entirely on an iPhone. I tend to overthink some of my shoots sometimes and I noticed it's because I was making the mistake of comparing myself to other big-time bloggers who have an entourage and professional photographers in tow. After the award show, I noticed this alleyway and really dug my outfit and just said fu$k it... let's do with what we got. We all start somewhere right?
To complete the look, I paired my jacket with these cute Steve Madden sandals which can literally be worn with almost anything!! You can buy these Steve Madden Shoes in many colors.... here.
I was (and still am) grateful for the nomination and it certainly sparked something in me to continue on this fashion journey documenting what I wear, what I like, and what I don't, and hopefully, you like it too! I personally love the fall vibes look because it can be worn for a weekend brunch with your girls or to a chic event and even to work (minus the crop top of course!).
